Sync Your Car

Technology is getting closer and closer to making our cars almost as compatible as our secretaries. A new technological innovation called Sync, now allows drivers to connect to their cars like never before. The program, which is powered by Microsoft, boasts a highly intellectual “voice recognition” system that is able to follow voice commands. The Sync system turns your car’s dashboard into an interactive interface where you can make phone calls, read text messages and even change the song on your Ipod, all by commanding it to do so with your voice. For example, just by saying “Play The Strokes”, Sync will browse through your MP3 player and play the selection you requested. By saying “Call home” the Sync will make a call for you to your home, all hands free. Though the phone and media capabilities seem to be the only advantage to the program, as updates become available, the system will be enhanced. The Sync program is only available on higher end Ford and new Lincoln models as a standard, but on models where the program is optional, it can be purchased for $395.

This program does sound pretty cool, but I think I’ll just wait until the mani/pedi/cookie enhancement comes along before I jump on the wagon!
